Arriving by Car

Ellington Field is located about 20 minutes south of Houston in the Clear Lake area. From Houston, take I-45 South to the Ellington exit. Go under the overpass and curve right, over I-45 and onto Ellington Road (FM1959). Continue heading east into the main entrance of Ellington Field. Or you may take Beltway 8 to the Highway 3 exit, then proceed south on Highway 3 to Ellington Field. There is no charge for parking. Please see our Parking Maps below for details about the many parking areas available.

Arriving by Commercial Air

Houston's Hobby Airport is located just off I-45, between downtown Houston and Ellington Field and is served by most major airlines. Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport is located north of the city.

Arriving by Your Own Aircraft

Airshow attendees may fly their own planes to Ellington Field for the Airshow; however, they must be on the ground and in place by 9:00 a.m. on show days. Waiver times will be in effect Saturday, October 25th from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, October 26th, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Waiver dates and times subject to change.) During waiver times, the field will be closed to all air traffic. If aircraft are not at least in the pattern on these days, they may be waved off to another airport.

Pilots will be instructed where to park aircraft upon arrival. Everyone arriving in the aircraft must have an Airshow ticket or be prepared to buy one. Gate tickets will be available upon arrival. You will not be allowed to stay with your plane. Everyone must be behind the crowd line. Aircraft will not be able to leave until Ellington Field is reopened to air traffic.
